This small, laid-back town at the base of the Spanish Peaks is located along the Scenic Highway of Legends, in South central Colorado. It is now home to a diverse population of outdoorsy folks, nature lovers, artists and ranchers. It's far enough from big cities to have its own vibe, away from Colorado beaten and crowded paths. Located over 7000ft, La Veta is refreshing and unknown, surrounded by beautiful Nature and unique landscapes.
Nine buildings remain on the all-original adobe fort built in 1862 that is the Fort Francisco Museum. In addition to this, a group of stone buildings in the historical center of town gives main Street a picturesque atmosphere. The Spanish Peak Outfitters store is located there.
